In Sheffields industrial heartland redundant decaying steel mills make for a post apocalyptic scene enhanced by the fiery sky. Yet the serene foreground with lillies and reflected sky make this a contradictory scene. South Yorkshire,UK.

Autumnal colour at Padley Gorge in the Peak District National Park, Derbyshire.

As the sun crests the horizon it illuminates the clouds above and the warm light is reflected down onto the side of the gorge. 350 million years ago this gorge was an undersea gully at the bed of a tropical sea.

Woodhouse Island sits in a tranquil Crummock Water. The distant mountains are enveloped in Autumn mist.

In a meadow near Buttermere, two yellow trees lit by the evening sunshine stand out in contrast to the blue grey slate of Fleetwith Pike beyond.

The beautiful lake is framed by autumnal colour with Fleetwith Pike and Haystacks rising majestically in the far distance.

The October evening sunshine glints on the falls and catches some of the Autumnal foliage.

The small Island sits in a tranquil Crummock Water whilst the fells beyond are shrouded in mist.

In a meadow near Buttermere two yellow trees standout illuminated by the evening sunshine and compliment the blue/grey slate of Fleetwith Pike beyond.

The narly & twisted old oak trees by Crummock water now have golden Autumnal foliage which complements beautifully the blue water of the lake.

Looking out over Crummock Water the sun has set behind Bleacragg and Mellbreak and we now enter the ‘Blue Hour’ - a period loved by many landscape photographers including myself.

The ghyll flows out of the Autumnal woodland and tumbles over amber coloured rocks to join Buttermere lake.
